HOME ADDITION
CONTRACTOR
(Hartford, CT & Surrounding Areas)
You are going to love your beautiful home addition.
So it’s time to grow your home and make more room for your lifestyle. Building a home addition is a big decision. There is a lot to consider.
Spaces LLC’s design/ build team will help you get clear on the best way to accomplish your goals so that your home works better for how you live.
We chose Spaces LLC for our renovation project based on the high rate of reviews and that was the best decision. Andrew and his crew are a team of professionals who know their job very well and can get your project done right. We were going to update the kitchen and bathrooms, fix some structural issues, do lots of electrical works, and paint the whole interior. Andrew was excellent at listening to our needs, explaining different options, and letting us choose the services we wanted. He was very prompt in communications, very flexible, easy to work with, and made this a smooth process for us. There were some difficulties, of course, but the crew was always there to give useful recommendations and solutions. If something was not done to our satisfaction, they were open to rework and ensure that we are happy with the result. They also did a good job cleaning up at the end. We had a great experience and highly recommend this company to anyone.

Here’s what we can do for you
Ground floor addition
“Building out” with a traditional ground floor addition will require the foundation to be extended as well. One advantage of building out is that the construction process for this type of addition isn’t as disruptive to your home life as a second-story addition would be. You don’t have to move items out, and you don’t have to remove the roof.
Three season sunroom
Adding a 3 season sunroom is an economical way to add seasonal living space to your home. Sunrooms are not insulated, making them hot in the summer and cold in the winter, hence the three seasons designation. If you are converting your porch into a sunroom, you won’t have the added expense of needing to create a new foundation to support it.
Adding a second story
If property boundaries won’t allow for it, sometimes building out is not an option. Assuming that your foundation and framing can handle the additional weight, building up might be the only way forward.
Our structural engineers and licensed architects can assess your home and make appropriate recommendations. Spaces LLC has all of the needed tradespeople on hand to seamlessly design and build your addition from start to finish.
Add a Dormer
Turning your attic into usable living space can be a viable option. Dormers increase headroom by turning an area with a slanted ceiling into a more traditional box. There are many different dormer styles. We can show you options and make appropriate recommendations based on your goals and the design of your home.
Bump-out extension
A bump-out is a small-scale addition where a room is pushed outward by 2-3 feet. Bump-outs can make space for a pantry in a kitchen or a tub in a bathroom. Adding a window with a sitting area or adding a closet are also common reasons to extend a room. Smaller ground floor bump-outs can be cantilevered and may not require a slab or foundation.
